Description: This training course presented the tools and techniques of cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis whereby providing the participants an opportunity to apply the cost-benefit/cost-effectiveness procedures using actual case studies. Content covered during the course includes: identification and measurement of costs and benefits; consideration of intangible costs and benefits; calculation of net program benefits; examination of the benefits-to-costs ratio; conducting a sensitivity analysis on assumptions; and understanding and handling risk factors. Public and private sector analysis were also presented. In addition, alternative evaluation approaches, such as Value for Money and cost-utility analysis were discussed.
